A former presbytery steeped in history in Haute-Loire

Sleeping in a house that has survived five centuries is already a form of travel.
Nestled in the heart of Saint-Privat-d'Allier, with views of the Haut-Allier gorges, La Goimardise is much more than just accommodation: it is a building of character, deeply linked to the history of the village.
Formerly a priory belonging to the Benedictines of La Chaise-Dieu, the building housed a few monks before the Revolution. After their departure, the priory became national property, then was sold and restored over time, regaining its purpose of providing hospitality by becoming the village presbytery.
Despite the hardships: occupation by soldiers, transformations and disappearing architectural elements... the house has retained the essentials: its soul, its authenticity and that peaceful atmosphere which does one good.
In the 19th century, Abbot Pierre Gire, the emblematic priest of Saint-Privat-d'Allier, undertook major restorations to both the 12th-century church and the presbytery. His commitment left a lasting mark on the village.

Today, the former presbytery naturally returns to its original purpose: to welcome, gather, and offer a place of rest. We have preserved the spirit of the place while providing the necessary comforts for pilgrims on the GR65, hikers, and travelers seeking authenticity in the Haute-Loire region.
Staying with us means experiencing a stopover where heritage, nature and conviviality meet.
